Assignment 7.5 : Pugh Chart

1 = Styrofoam cup

2= injection-molded cup with a handle.

3= paper cup with a cardboard sleeve.

4= paper cup with a pull-out handle.

5= paper cup with a cellular wall.

After several discussions with our group, we decided to remove concept 3 since it has poor temperature resistance compared to datum whereas the other two concept ( 2 and 4 ) are similar to the datum. Concept 3 also has the highest number of negatives.

We moved to second Pugh Chart by using Concept 5 as our new datum since it has highest number of positives.

 

After the second Pugh Chart, we found that  the number of negatives is much lower than previous chart. Our team suggested that concept 4 is the best design since it has the lowest number of negatives and considerable number of positives.
